lyrics

A special torture. A special torture made real with birth. Handed to me from mother's insides waiting just next to you on a small table. Until then I was whole. Accepting this with my entire being was an implicit trade. A future assassination. Planting a seed that would grow and bring ruin.

It was the champagne bottle smashed against the hull of a vessel sailing to annihilation.

I thought I knew love. Real love was known with your arrival. Real love is frightening, pure, reckless. A horror. Real love is accepting my death. It is the selfless leap into the gorilla pen. It is crawling towards the beast with shattered ankles. Tugging at its foot, embracing its mass. When it bites my genitals from my body with blunt teeth you will see real love. When it dismembers my arms as my eyes glaze out and my legs twitch you will see real love. Real love is absolute horror.

A special torture. Maybe we won't starve. Maybe we won't choke. Maybe the world won't give in to dust. Maybe you can win. Real change is generational. Generational change requires generations. Maybe I've helped. Or am I just selfish. Am I just limping under the weight of simple biology. The shred of hope is a barely disguised self soothing of the doomed.

A special torture. Thoughts and pondering in the warlock hour is just a silent chemical reaction. How do you stop an avalanche? Separate your recycling. Post your voting sticker online. Talk to your financial planner about electric vehicles. Make more songs. Drink less. Do we quarter our rations, or should we just feast and fuck? Do I put you to work, or do I let you play until we suffocate?

A special torture. A radiance I can carry until one of us is gone. A window into immortality. A broken blender thrashing hope and fear across dull blades.
